Information about Antigua & Barbuda

  • It is an independent country in the Eastern Caribbean Sea on the border with the Atlantic Ocean and comprises two main islands, Antigua and Barbuda.
  • The largest English-speaking island of Leeward and one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
  • Tourism makes 60% of the domestic income, as tourists come from Europe, Canada, and the USA.
  • Antigua & Barbuda has various investments in Real Estate and hotels owned by well-known celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Robert De Niro.
  • The capital city and the largest city is Saint John’s.
  • Area: 442 km.
  • Population in 2017: 102,000.

Citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda by Investment Program

  • The Citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda Program was established in 2013 and it grants full citizenship rights (except election) and the passport within 4-6 months from the application submission date.
  • Antigua passport is ranked 23rd worldwide, and the holder of Antigua and Barbuda passport can travel to more than 138 countries around the world without a visa such as the UK, the Schengen countries, and Russia.
  • The application includes the main applicant, spouse, single children under the age of 28 (a subject that they are students without interruption) as well as financially dependent parents and grandparents (for main applicant and spouse) above the age of 58.
  • No prior residency is required for Citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda, but the main Applicant must visit Antigua for 5 days during the first 5 years after granting the citizenship and passports to complete the first renewal process.
  • Antigua & Barbuda passport holders can have dual citizenship.
  • There are no taxes on business outside Antigua.
  • When acquiring Citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda within this program, the applicant and his family members enjoy full lifelong citizenship.
  • The Citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda cannot be passed to future generations by descent except for an additional fee.
  • Applying to the program through authorized agents exclusively and cannot be submitted directly to CIU.

Program Requirements

  • The main applicant must be above 18 years old.
  • A clear criminal record for all family members.
  • Clear medical tests for all family members.
  • Nationalities cannot benefit from this program: Yemen, Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, North Korea, Sudan, and Palestinians with a travel document, excluding citizens of any other country than the mentioned previously for more than 10 years and whose money has no connection with prohibited countries (this exception does not include citizens from Iran).
  • Stateless individuals (Bidoon) from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and UAE are welcome to apply.
  • In case of previous visa refusals for the main applicant or (family members) from one of the countries that allow the holder of an Antigua and Barbuda passport to enter it without a visa, they won’t be able to apply for this program until he/she apply and receive an approval for the same visa using his/her current passport.
