Saint Kitts and Nevis Announces Readiness to Host US Embassy

On August 16, 2023, the government of Saint Kitts and Nevis announced its readiness to host a United States embassy on its territory. Dr. Marcus Natta, Secretary to the Cabinet in Saint Kitts and Nevis, stated that during a meeting with officials from the United States and Caribbean region in The Bahamas in June 2023, the US administration initiated the process of establishing two new embassies and diplomatic support in the Eastern Caribbean.


As a result, the Cabinet of Saint Kitts and Nevis made the decision to host a US embassy in the country, aiming to strengthen the relationship and partnership with the United States. The government of Saint Kitts and Nevis affirmed that it would continue regular meetings with US officials and involve them in this matter until a decision is made by the US government.
