Saint Kitts and Nevis Establish Diplomatic Relations with Lebanon

On July 24, 2024, the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Government of Lebanon formed diplomatic relations during a signing ceremony at the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York.

The joint statement was signed by Her Excellency Dr. Motris Williams, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, and His Excellency Mr. Hadi Hashem, Acting Chargé affairs of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations. Both parties emphasized the importance of this step in enhancing cooperation and understanding between the two countries.

During the ceremony, the ambassadors discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including boosting tourism and bilateral trade, signing visa waiver agreements, and appointing honorary consuls in the capitals of both countries. They also exchanged views on ways to strengthen economic and cultural cooperation between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Lebanon, highlighting the importance of expanding diplomatic relations to cover new areas.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Lebanon is a significant step in the Federation’s efforts to enhance its international presence and expand its diplomatic footprint. This initiative aims to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in various fields such as tourism, trade, culture, and education.
