Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Saada Ahmed Al-Khateeb, undertook a significant visit to Dominica, focused on contributing to the development project in Roseau, the capital city. During this visit, His Excellency and a delegation of Saudi officials engaged with Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, to foster collaboration between the two nations.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit highlighted those discussions encompassed diverse financing aspects related to the Roseau capital project with the Saudi team. He expressed eagerness to continue these deliberations during forthcoming visits.

“Cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the development initiative for Roseau remains a significant focus. The forthcoming visit of the Saudi follow-up team in a few weeks will amplify these discussions. The development project of Roseau is an utmost national priority in Dominica,” emphasized Prime Minister Skerrit.

The meeting aimed at strengthening ties between the countries across pivotal sectors. Prime Minister Skerrit emphasized, “Our discussions with Saudi officials also extended to forging strategic relationships in various sectors such as culture, infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism. There’s ongoing consideration for a collaborative project with the Ministry of Tourism to exchange experiences regarding tourism marketing and development strategies.”

Wrapping up the meeting, Prime Minister Skerrit highlighted an imminent visit by a Saudi Arabian team to glean insights from their expertise in tourism. The involvement of both public and private sectors is poised to shape these pioneering endeavors.
